About Attorney Heather M. Trick

Raised in Central Florida, Heather M. Trick attended the University of Florida where she graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Political Science and Religion. As a student, she served as President of the Sigma Phi Lambda Sorority, mentored at-risk middle school students, and enjoyed many Gator Football games. Heather also volunteered with Hurricane Katrina clean-ups and Habitat for Humanity.

Seeking to fulfill her interest in serving the public, Heather pursued her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia, where she graduated with Honors in 2010. During law school, Heather was a contributor to the annual Working in Public Interest Conference, earned her Mediation Certification and interned as a mediator for the magistrate court. Heather rounded out her balancing act and enrolled in trapeze classes. During the summers, Heather got her first taste of criminal law as an intern with the Western Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office in Athens, GA, where she interviewed clients, wrote motions, and even argued at hearings.

Heather Trick return to her Central Florida roots by accepting a position at the 9th Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office in Orlando, FL after graduation. While at the office, she gained extensive experience through handling thousands of cases from Arraignment through Trial, including Misdemeanors, Life Felonies, Minimum Mandatory sentences, Juvenile/ Delinquency cases, Veteran's Court, Drug Court, and first time offenses. Heather joined The Colbert Law Firm in 2014 as an Associate Attorney, bringing her passion for public service and legal advocacy.
